Designer Sizing Guide
Brand-by-Brand Fit
Formalwear sizes are not standardized. The same customer may need different sizes across designers—or even across two styles from the same designer.
The Belameur Sizing Rule
Measure first, then compare bust, waist and hip measurements with the chart shown for the exact dress. Never order only by your usual U.S. clothing size or by a size purchased from another designer.
Jovani
Fit varies by collection, silhouette and construction. Pay special attention to fitted bodices, corsetry, beaded fabrics and styles with limited stretch.
Terani Couture
Compare measurements with the chart for the exact prom, evening, mother-of-the-bride or couture style. Structured and embellished gowns may offer little room for error.
Jessica Angel Collection
Many designs create a close, body-conscious silhouette. Confirm fabric stretch and compare all key measurements rather than choosing by waist alone.
Chic & Holland
Construction ranges from fitted embellished gowns to more flowing silhouettes. Review the exact style chart, lining and stretch before selecting a size.
Five Checks Before Selecting a Size
- Take fresh bust, waist and hip measurements.
- Identify where the dress is most fitted.
- Check fabric stretch, lining, boning and cups.
- Consider the alterations that may be required.
- Confirm return eligibility and timing before ordering.
